Localizations multiply the keyword field
Each language you add is another name, subtitle and keyword field in every store that uses it.
Every storefront shows your metadata in one default language and indexes, for most stores, a few additional ones. Each localization you add is another full set of the three fields wherever that language is used. The US store indexes nine languages besides English (U.S.): every one you add is another keyword field working in the US.
A localization does not have to be a translation. English (U.K.) is the default of the stores that have no English (U.S.), so the same English words in its fields reach all of them at once; Australia and Canada have their own English and need their own set. Translate later, starting where the ratings come from.
This is the step most developers skip, and the cheapest downloads left. Competition for a term in the Spanish (Mexico) or German fields is a fraction of the English one, and the translated metadata is a day's work.
In the US store, read October 4
- 175 storefronts. By default metadata language: English (U.K.) in 135, Spanish (Mexico) in 16, French in 4, German in 3, Chinese (Traditional) in 3, English (Australia) in 2.
